2022 Tree Planting EventTo ensure that we have a successful third year planting trees, we need your help to fully fund the Treemendous Quanah Initiative in 2022.
During the first two years, we successfully planted dozens of trees at the Historic Quanah City Park, the Quanah Community Center, the Hardeman County Historical Museums, and the Goodlett Cemetery. In part due to the extreme weather of the past two years, and in part due to some human interactions, we have lost a number of those trees that need to be replaced. Because of the losses, this year, in addition to our partnership with WKNAI and LAERF, which typically provides small seedlings and 1-2 year growth trees, we would like to also purchase a number of, slightly larger, 4-5 year growth trees as well. We have already begun discussions to purchase trees, at a discount, but in order to fully fund this program, we need some additional funding. If you would prefer to send a check, please make the check payable to E. Eugene Johnson Memorial Foundation with Treemendous Quanah in the memo line. You can either deposit the check in person at Security Bank in Quanah or mail it to the E. Eugene Johnson Memorial Foundation at 726 N. Hampton Rd., Dallas, TX 75208. |
